Office dreams

I rented a small office space for a few months this autumn, but it didn’t quite fit me so I moved my office back home again. While working from home certainly has its perks, like being able to work in your pyjamas, or not having to go out when it rains, it is not the most effective. I get a lot more done when I’m in a real office. So now I’m on the lookout for a new place. No hurry though, this time I want to make sure that it actually suits my needs perfectly.
The studio below, where a group of photographers and graphic designers share a space in central Copenhagen, looks dreamy…

Ems Designblogg is all about Scandinavian style, soft minimalism and beautiful functionalism. The blog is Sweden's oldest interior design blog and has been up and running since 2005. I strive to fill it with a mix of inspirational and aspirational images from all over the world, while keeping true to my own voice and style, where transparency is key and creative criticism is highly valued. When I'm not blogging, I bake chocolate cakes for my kids, hang around Stockholm's cafés and drink way too many cappuccinos, do some occasional styling work, and try to fit in some inspiring travel adventures in between. If you have any suggestions, propositions for collaborations, other ideas or just want to say hi, throw an email at:

  • Jättebra blogg, välskrivna inlägg och fina bilder. Fortsätt så! 🙂

  • WOW…I would want to live there. Cheers.

  • Skitsnyggt!

  • Wow! It looks fantastic! I don’t know exactly which are your needs but for what I know about you through your blog I think this industrial/white style would be perfect for you! 🙂

  • Wow, so light and airy! A complete blank canvas for brainstorming! I know what you mean, I work from home and I have to admit although it sounds great, it does make you feel incredibly sluggish! It’s not ideal, would be fantastic to be in your position to rent a studio! Good luck on your search!

Perfekt balans i mitt liv. Hoppas du hittar det du letar efter.

  • I always think working from home would be perfect – mainly the staying in your pyjamas and not going out when it rains bit – but sometimes I do better with the motivation of others.

I definitely wouldnt mind the office/studio space above. So perfect and fresh.

  • Ser riktigt inspirerande ut, gillar designen och dess radade kolonner. 🙂 ljust och vackert.

  • That does look dreamy.
I agree that working from home can be less effecitve.

Best of luck with your search.

  • I’m also on my way to move to a real studio from home. This space look perfect to me too! Good luck. Agata

  • amazing space!

  • Wonderful! I would so love to share space with other creative people 🙂

  • Really nice flat !

  • John Forsman

make sure the others don’t come to work in their pajamas.

  • bra blogg!

  • K H

    Vad underbara bilder

  • Fabuloso!!

  • Drömmen!

  • It’s not an apartment, it’s an office.

  • Why? I think that would be quite nice. 🙂 I can imagine a whole office full of people in their jammies, with felt slippers and big cups of tea for everyone…

  • Tom

anyone know what that print (nude) is?

  • Oh, I dream about my own office! So much space on these photos! 🙂

  • Gud vilken fin blogg! Massa inspo!

  • Helmut Newton.

  • The space is beautiful but I think I would get less work done working in an office with others than at home. Maybe I could have the room to myself?! xx

  • I have no problem seeing myself being very productive and creative there:)

    jättesnygg !!

  • I really like white! 😉

  • I actually find myself getting more motivated by seeing other people work, so for me it’s the other way around. I do prefer not having to hear them chat though, so I’d probably wear headphones. 🙂

  • jisses. what a dream!

  • I adore the muted tones of your blog – yet you don’t simply use black and white or washed out photographs! True skill. x

  • I know the feeling… I work from home. There are good parts but also bad parts. All the best 🙂
