Luxe Ikea bags in Kvadrat fabrics by Herman Cph

HermanCph ikea bag in kvadrat fabrics

Just the other day I was discussing Ikea bags with a friend. You know, the big blue plastic ones that everyone have and use for laundry, storage, trips to the country house or carrying stuff to the recycling station. Also a big favorite with interior stylists, as they can hold a huge amount of props! They look hideous, but are extremely practical. We talked about suggesting to Ikea that they should make them in nicer colours (read: black). Danish brand Herman Cph had a similar idea, but went one step further and actually started making their own much nicer, limited edition version of the bags. Theirs are made of leftovers from furniture production; scraps of Kvadrat fabrics, with handles in premium leather.

Ems Designblogg is all about Scandinavian style, soft minimalism and beautiful functionalism. The blog is Sweden's oldest interior design blog and has been up and running since 2005. I strive to fill it with a mix of inspirational and aspirational images from all over the world, while keeping true to my own voice and style, where transparency is key and creative criticism is highly valued. When I'm not blogging, I bake chocolate cakes for my kids, hang around Stockholm's cafés and drink way too many cappuccinos, do some occasional styling work, and try to fit in some inspiring travel adventures in between. If you have any suggestions, propositions for collaborations, other ideas or just want to say hi, throw an email at: emsdesignblogg@gmail.com.
