Iris Hantverk catalogue

Iris Hantverk is a Swedish organisation that has been employing blind and sight impaired persons to make high quality household items since 1903. Perhaps some of you have heard of them or at least seen their brushes or other products? I personally think they are wonderful.

And after seeing their new catalogue, I like them even more! It’s styled by Cia Wedin, shot by Anna Kern and designed by Anna Larsson.

Anyway, the Swedish government has decided to discontinue their benefits towards Iris Hantverk, so now they have to make it on their own. I’d be really sad to see them go, so please, if you can, show your support by buying something from Iris Hantverk. They have two stores in Stockholm, one in Kungsgatan 55, and one in Västerlånggatan 24. If you don’t live in Stockholm they have lots of retailers abroad. They are planning a webshop, but until then you can find some of their products online for example here.

Ems Designblogg is all about Scandinavian style, soft minimalism and beautiful functionalism. The blog is Sweden's oldest interior design blog and has been up and running since 2005. I strive to fill it with a mix of inspirational and aspirational images from all over the world, while keeping true to my own voice and style, where transparency is key and creative criticism is highly valued. When I'm not blogging, I bake chocolate cakes for my kids, hang around Stockholm's cafés and drink way too many cappuccinos, do some occasional styling work, and try to fit in some inspiring travel adventures in between. If you have any suggestions, propositions for collaborations, other ideas or just want to say hi, throw an email at: [email protected].

So sad to hear this. I have been to their shops and will check out their web shop as soon as it is online.
I love their products and the idea behind them. Thanks for the heads up.

  • That's so neat!! 🙂

It would be nice if there were some working links to those Iris Hantwerk pictures.

I love their products and have a number of them but they not that easy to find in London.

Keep up the good work with your blog .

  • mrswoo, which links aren't working for you? If you click on the word "catalogue" it should take you there. Isn't it working for you?

  • All my support for them – I really hope everything works out and they can continue the great work. The Finnish company Sokeva Käsityö makes similar products as well, they're renewing their collection and it looks so great.

  • I like their products – hope they will be able to stay in business! 🙂

  • Really nice products and have a look in the new store Kardelen, in Malmö, they will sell some of them.

  • Sad to hear, love their products!

  • This looks really good. I really hope they stay in business!
