The Bottoli family lives here!

I am off to Copenhagen again, for the fifth time this year. Although it is a lovely city, I sometimes wish my work would take me to some more exotic places, like LA and Tokyo or perhaps a bit more realistic, Berlin, Amsterdam or Paris.

Right now I’m dreaming of Italy. More precizely this house in Mantua featured in Milk Magazine, that belongs to the Bottoli family. Minimalist, but still warm.

Ems Designblogg is all about Scandinavian style, soft minimalism and beautiful functionalism. The blog is Sweden's oldest interior design blog and has been up and running since 2005. I strive to fill it with a mix of inspirational and aspirational images from all over the world, while keeping true to my own voice and style, where transparency is key and creative criticism is highly valued. When I'm not blogging, I bake chocolate cakes for my kids, hang around Stockholm's cafés and drink way too many cappuccinos, do some occasional styling work, and try to fit in some inspiring travel adventures in between. If you have any suggestions, propositions for collaborations, other ideas or just want to say hi, throw an email at: [email protected].

  • Just beautiful-the ceiling is stunning and adds warmth! 🙂

  • Ilaria

Just adore the black ceramics 🙂

  • I believe that the reason it works so well, apart from the fact that it is in Italy, and it being so very minimal is because the quality and workmanship of the units are of such a high standard and impeccable taste. Love it.

  • Yes – I agree with Caroline that the ceiling adds warmth. It’s a little clinical but this is broken up by the range of colours and textures and it works.
