One Pic Wednesday: Book Store Love

This is a picture from my Instagram, taken today at a small shop selling used photo books. I am completely in love with this place, its bookshelves full of wonderful inspiration, the concrete floor, simple interiors and piles of great books everywhere you look.

They also have a wall full of old photos with notes from the photographers on what should be changed or retouched, saying things like ”too fleshy, add contrast” or ”more bite in the shadows”, which I find really interesting as to my novice eyes these images are already perfect. My photo above would get a million remarks about what’s wrong with it, but I quite like it anyway…

Ems Designblogg is all about Scandinavian style, soft minimalism and beautiful functionalism. The blog is Sweden's oldest interior design blog and has been up and running since 2005. I strive to fill it with a mix of inspirational and aspirational images from all over the world, while keeping true to my own voice and style, where transparency is key and creative criticism is highly valued. When I'm not blogging, I bake chocolate cakes for my kids, hang around Stockholm's cafés and drink way too many cappuccinos, do some occasional styling work, and try to fit in some inspiring travel adventures in between. If you have any suggestions, propositions for collaborations, other ideas or just want to say hi, throw an email at: [email protected].

Härlig bild – var finns denna fina bookstore? I Stockholm?? Tack,

  • Tack! Ja, den ligger i Stockholm. Ska se om jag kan få med mig en fotograf dit någon dag och göra ett riktigt inlägg om den.

  • Oh, I love those shops! Especially the smell of old books! Where abouts is that shop?:)

  • It’s in Stockholm, and that’s all I’m saying right now as I am hoping to go there and shoot some proper pics soon, and don’t want anyone else to discover it before that. 😀
