Light and summery house in Denmark

book piles on a thonet chair ems designblogg

Enough of the workplace inspiration now. Summer has finally arrived in Sweden, and the warm weather brought a change of mood and pace, so from now on and a few weeks forward I will be spending my days relaxing, traveling, and hanging with my kids. The blog will still be updated, but posts will be briefer.

Today’s photos comes from a house in Denmark, and what I fell for was the light summer atmosphere with lots of vintage items and books spread throughout the home, mixed with pop art and modern design classics.

Ems Designblogg is all about Scandinavian style, soft minimalism and beautiful functionalism. The blog is Sweden's oldest interior design blog and has been up and running since 2005. I strive to fill it with a mix of inspirational and aspirational images from all over the world, while keeping true to my own voice and style, where transparency is key and creative criticism is highly valued. When I'm not blogging, I bake chocolate cakes for my kids, hang around Stockholm's cafés and drink way too many cappuccinos, do some occasional styling work, and try to fit in some inspiring travel adventures in between. If you have any suggestions, propositions for collaborations, other ideas or just want to say hi, throw an email at: [email protected].

  • I love the light and airy look this house has.

I’ve been curious about arranging my books with the paper edges facing out…it makes a chaotic bookshelf look calm and clean. So beautiful!
