Tous les jours – A new hipster hangout in Stockholm

tous les jours shop front window cafe stockholm ems designblogg

Convenience store, café, flower shop, lunch joint, generally friendly hangout, I’m not really sure what to call this place, but it sure looks nice! Tous les jours opened a few months ago in Vasastan, Stockholm, and while this is definitely not my chosen area to hang out in, I think I might have to make an exception…

I wish my local convenience store looked like this. Imagine walking in here every time you need some milk or a snack? So cozy!

Tous les jours are open every day, and on weekends they deliver fresh baked bread and breakfast bags to people living nearby.

Even though they have carefully chosen their suppliers and products, they are hoping that no one will see them as complicated or elitist. ”To be ”one in the neighbourhood” means that  everyone should feel welcome. Just because we believe in serving superb coffee, we don’t feel the need to talk about how we calibrate our espresso machine or the coffee beans passing through the intestines of some obscure mustelids. We think that is the kind of things that would scare people off. We are very happy for the mix of people who are visiting us.”

Ems Designblogg is all about Scandinavian style, soft minimalism and beautiful functionalism. The blog is Sweden's oldest interior design blog and has been up and running since 2005. I strive to fill it with a mix of inspirational and aspirational images from all over the world, while keeping true to my own voice and style, where transparency is key and creative criticism is highly valued. When I'm not blogging, I bake chocolate cakes for my kids, hang around Stockholm's cafés and drink way too many cappuccinos, do some occasional styling work, and try to fit in some inspiring travel adventures in between. If you have any suggestions, propositions for collaborations, other ideas or just want to say hi, throw an email at: [email protected].

That looks really like a really nice place. Does anybody know where the stools in the fifth picture come from? Have a wondeful day!

  • Kjell Doktorow

The stools are from a swedish company called Massproducions. 🙂

  • I went to a similar one in CPH Lagkagehuset, but miss that in Stockholm. Looks like a great place, and nice pics by the way.

Thank you Kjell Doktorow. I found it. Have a wonderful day!
