Waldersten X By the Number A/W15

It’s fashion week here in Stockholm, and although this is a deco blog, one of the events just has to be mentioned here. You see, one of my favourite artists joined forces with two of the most talented designers this country has to offer, and the results are so cool! Jesper Waldersten teamed up with Astrid Olsson and Lee Cotter (the duo formerly known as V Ave Shoe Repair), and together they created the first collection for By the Number, inspired by a make-believe funeral and what one would wear to such an event.

While I don’t think I’d choose any of these garments for a funeral, they would make excellent outfits for every other day, or night. I love the flowing silhouettes that are a trademark of Olsson and Cotter, and my interest rises with the strange little quotes and dark motifs of Walderstens illustrations. It’s going to be a long wait until it’s in the stores this autumn!

Ems Designblogg is all about Scandinavian style, soft minimalism and beautiful functionalism. The blog is Sweden's oldest interior design blog and has been up and running since 2005. I strive to fill it with a mix of inspirational and aspirational images from all over the world, while keeping true to my own voice and style, where transparency is key and creative criticism is highly valued. When I'm not blogging, I bake chocolate cakes for my kids, hang around Stockholm's cafés and drink way too many cappuccinos, do some occasional styling work, and try to fit in some inspiring travel adventures in between. If you have any suggestions, propositions for collaborations, other ideas or just want to say hi, throw an email at: [email protected].
